Unsung Superheroes - Robert Smalls
"Unsung Superheroes" is an ongoing project that I've been working on since the end of 2018.
Over the years, there have been some remarkable historical figures that pretty much everyone's heard of - people like Florence Nightingale and Martin Luther King.
But there are tons that are no less remarkable, but are much less well-known.
I'm creating graphic novels about some of these people, starting with Robert Smalls - the slave who, during the American Civil War, stole a ship from right under the Confederates' noses, and sailed himself, his family, and some other slaves straight to freedom... and THEN embarked on a wholly amazing life!
