HOW I WORK / FROM HELLO TO LAST SONG

Built with you.
Live in the room.

Here’s how my wedding DJ planning process works, from your first enquiry and music consultation to a set built around you and responsive to the room. You bring the knowledge of your people. I bring the structure, judgement and nineteen years of knowing what a dancefloor is saying back.

01 / THE WHOLE PROCESS

No mystery.
No homework panic.

You are not expected to hand me five perfect hours in order. The planning is designed to capture meaning and boundaries, then leave enough air for a real party to happen.

  1. 01
    ENQUIRY

Date, venue, timings and a little about you

I check availability, journey and the practical shape of the booking. You get a clear quote and contract rather than a vague “package from” price.

  2. 02
    BOOKING

    One-third deposit secures the date

The remaining balance is due one month before the wedding. We arrange your consultation in good time, without turning the whole engagement into admin.

  3. 03
    MUSIC PREFERENCES

Must-plays, hard no’s, memories and people

The form asks useful questions: what you love, what you hate, who is coming, the scenes you share and how much freedom you want me to have.

  4. 04
    CONSULTATION

    One proper conversation

Usually around an hour in person in Birmingham, or by video. We settle logistics first, then talk through the shape, tone and possible musical routes of the night.

  5. 05
    THE WEDDING

I arrive early, build properly and make it live

I handle setup, liaise with the venue, make the announcements you actually need and turn the plan into a responsive set.

02 / THE KEY DISTINCTION

A brief,
not a script.

A fixed playlist can only describe the party you imagined. A DJ should respond to the party that is actually happening.

I will not ignore your wishes in the name of “reading the room”. I use them as the guardrails. Inside those, I can change pace, join unlikely dots, take a useful request or move the heavier run later when it will hit twice as hard.

03 / YOU SET THE BOUNDARIES

Requests, announcements
and other variables.

REQUESTS

Open, filtered or closed

We agree your preference. Guest requests can be welcomed, judged against the brief or politely declined.

MICROPHONE

Useful, not constant

Introductions and practical announcements where wanted. No running commentary and no manufactured banter.

FIRST DANCE

Your version, your moment

We confirm the exact track or edit and what should happen immediately afterwards so the floor opens naturally.

OVERTIME

Possible when the room allows

Venue rules and your booking come first. Extra performance time is priced transparently in half-hour increments.
